Kayla is our design intern from Clemson University. She will be graduating in May 2024 with a Bachelor’s of Art in Architecture. As part of the Haute Design team Kayla focuses on floor plan and furniture drawings, design boards, fabric and furniture selections, and marketing for our firm.

5 Q&a's with kayla...

1. How do you like to spend your weekends?
 I love spending my weekends with my family and friends out and about around downtown charleston or out on hikes.
2. where is your favorite place on earth?
I have a few different places that I love for many different reasons but my favorite place is costa rica! the culture and diverse, beautiful landscapes throughout the country definitely have a place in my heart. 

3. what is your favorite charleston restaurant?
There are so many good restaurants and food options here. I am a foodie, so I HAVE MANY FAVORITES, BUT i LOVE BUTCHER AND BEE, BARSA, AND CO. 

4. WHAT MAKES YOU LAUGH MOST?
mY FAMILY AND FRIENDS MAKE ME LAUGH THE MOST. AS WELL AS MY DOG SAGE, BUT i COUNT HER AS PART OF THE FAMILY OF COURSE. 

5. What designer past or present are you most inspired by and why?
  I find inspiration from many different designers. i LOVE DESINERS WHO MIX CLASSICAL AND MODERN PIECES. i ALSO LOVE tHE Mixing materials architecturally on the exterior and interior, MIXING OF PATTERNS, AND MATCHING OF POPS OF SOLID COLORS WITH PATTERNS.
